It’s hard to believe, but Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Thanksgiving is always such a relaxing day filled with family, football, and best of all: FOOD! Many Americans have fond memories of savory stuffing, crunchy and creamy green bean casseroles, and a big, juicy turkey. We’re all for the good old standards, but of course, we here at Nick’s Lobster House also love working a little fresh seafood into the mix.

This Thanksgiving, why not treat yourself and your family or friends to a succulent seafood feast? Check out some of our favorite ways to incorporate fresh seafood into your Thanksgiving meal:

Appetizers:

Everyone’s mouth waters at the sight of a shrimp cocktail platter or some oysters on the half shell. And nothing beats a warm crab dip appetizer made with fresh lump crab meat.

Starters:

A light seafood salad can be a wonderful kickoff to your Thanksgiving meal, or for those who prefer a heartier starter, ladle out steaming crocks of rich clam chowder. For a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, serve up some crab cakes or seared scallops!

Side Dishes:

Have you ever tried oyster stuffing? It’s a delectable alternative to the boxed stuff, and it compliments turkey so well! Baked stuffed clams can be a tasty alternative, too. Lobster mac and cheese is always a winning side dish, or maybe some stir-fried green beans with shrimp instead of the usual green bean casserole. And a simple platter of crab legs with garlic butter and lemons to squeeze can make a beautiful side dish on its own!

Main Dishes:

Serve stuffed lobster for a stunning and delicious alternative to a big, dry bird for your main dish. Whole baked fish also makes a tasty and attractive main course. For the adventurous host, paella is a tasty option that will feed a crowd. Or why not go all out and host a clambake for a fun and EASY meal that everyone will love!

Start a new tradition this year by making fresh seafood a part of your Thanksgiving dinner. Just be sure to stop by the fresh seafood market at Nick’s Lobster House for the freshest seafood selection in Brooklyn! We’re certain that you and your family and friends will love making succulent, fresh seafood a part of your Thanksgiving feast.
